Capabilities

A working library, on the same record

Circulation

Issue and return with the record in view

A librarian should see a borrower's loans, limits and fines before issuing the next book. The loan sits on the student record, so other staff can see it too.

  • Loan limits and periods by student, staff or year group.
  • Overdue loans visible on the borrower's record.
  • Clearance checks before graduation or withdrawal.
  • Support for barcode scanning at the desk. [CONFIRM BARCODE AND RFID SUPPORT]

Fines and clearance

Fines that reach the ledger, not a notebook

Late and lost items turn into charges that finance can see. Waivers need approval, and the reason stays on record.

  • Fine rules by item type and borrower.
  • Charges added to the student ledger.
  • Waivers approved and recorded.
  • Library clearance as part of a leaving checklist.

Digital library

Print and digital resources in one search

Students should not need to know where a resource lives. List digital subscriptions alongside print holdings and link them from the course or the LMS.

  • E-books, journals and web resources in the catalogue.
  • Links from course pages and the LMS.
  • Reading lists attached to a class or course.
  • Reading records on the student profile.
